This course is intended for individuals and businesses who require the SKYLOTEC ActSafe ACX
Power Ascenders for lifting goods and lifting personnel.
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: - Explain and apply general safety guidelines for using ActSafe Power Ascenders.
- Outline and implement basic requirements for equipment lifting.
- Identify the risks associated with Li-ion batteries and their maintenance.
- Specify the appropriate ropes for ActSafe Power Ascenders.
- Describe all parts, controls, and functions of the ascender.
- Determine when ActSafe Power Ascenders should not be used.
- Conduct a pre-use inspection of the ascender.
- Properly feed the rope into the ascender.
- Safely and correctly use backup devices with ACX ascenders.
- Demonstrate the four lifting setups for both personnel and equipment, ensuring 100% tie-off during transitions.
- Perform emergency and rescue procedures.
Pre-requisites
- Be medically fit and capable of fully participating.
- Hold a valid Working at height certificate.
Expectations
- Beneficial if delegates hold a valid Slinger Banksman certificate.
- Beneficial if delegates hold a valid a level of Rope Access experience.
A signed REAX statement of medical fitness to be signed prior to the commencement of the course. A reasonable level of fitness will be required to complete the practical element of this course.
