All persons required to lift and lower loads in a safe manner in accordance with the current legislation. Aimed at all workers who as part of their duties are expected to lift or lower loads at height under the L.O.L.E.R regulations 1998.
To enable workers plan, risk assess and implement a work tasks involving the construction and use of mechanical advantage systems. To gain knowledge of a variety of methods and equipment available for use in lifting and lowering. To have an understanding of the legal requirements and conform to current legislation.

Construction of safe systems of work
Care and inspection of PPE
Selection of appropriate equipment for lifting and lowering
Construction of lifting systems
Work positioning / Fall arrest systems
Basic pulley awareness and theory
Friction factors and deviation loadings awareness
