For all persons who are required to work in an environment where it is necessary to enter the space using Self Contained Breathing Apparatus or Air-line equipment. Where entry to the space is non-standard and will require specialist equipment to gain access.
To enable the candidate to hold a good understanding of the requirements and procedures to gain entry into high risk spaces. To become fully competent with Self Contained Breathing Apparatus and Escape Breathing Apparatus sets along with the requirements for using Air-line equipment. This includes all the after use and general checking of the apparatus.
The High Risk Confined Space Training course is a CABWI safety training course that is aimed at people that work in a high risk environments where the specific risk cannot be controlled or eliminated. Individual workers, as well as managers that need to supervise or assess work in these conditions, can all benefit from this advanced safety course.
The course will address risk assessment and the correct selection and use of safety equipment. It also provides information on the use of breathing apparatus, which is not included in some of the lower risk confined space training courses. This is an advanced course and participants will be required to undergo both practical and theoretical training in order to gain the skills required to enter high risk confined spaces.
To be able to recognise the classification of the space and implement systems accordingly.
To be able to identify all hazards regarding the space.
To be able to carry out Risk Assessments prior to entering the space. To understand and use Permit Entry Control systems.
Understand how to gas monitor the space prior to entry.
To become competent in the use of Breathing Apparatus Escape equipment.
To become competent in the use of full Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.
To become competent in the use of full Breathing Apparatus Air-line equipment.
To undertake full after use and general checks on all the Breathing Apparatus equipment.
Be able to construct and use a Quad-Pod/Tripod system for vertical entry into the space.
