Any persons who may be required to use a harness to carry out the duties allocated to them. The course will give information only on Fall Arrest Equipment in regard to harness attachment points. This course does not fulfil a Working at Height qualification.
To give all persons who have the responsibility for their staff who are expected to work at height in line with the Working At Height Regulations 2005. To be able to inspect personal equipment and recognise defects and the correct procedure to record these issues. This qualification does not qualify the certificate holder to Work at Height.
Personal responsibilities under the Health & Safety Act 1974. Safe systems of work. Methods of fall protection. Existing safe working platforms. Work restraint systems. Work positioning systems. Fall arrest methods. Understanding of suspension intolerance. Inspection care and maintenance of a harness and associated equipment.
Fitting and adjustment of harness. To have an understanding of the use of energy absorbing lanyards. The fitting of work positioning equipment. To have an understanding of Work Restraint Systems. To be able to recognise any defects in the harness and associated equipment.
